Bending the Wire
A crumpled golden twist-tie caught my attention beside the bamboo bread box on the counter. It had been twisted into an irregular knot and discarded on the smooth laminate. I picked it up, testing the firmness of the thin metal core wrapped inside its paper coating. Rather than attempting to pull it flat, I carefully curved the center around my thumb to form an even loop, then bent both tips downward to create two stable feet. After nudging the angle slightly against the surface, I let go. The little arch held its shape completely, standing balanced on its own feet.
