A Fluffy Bump
I rolled past the edge of the clover patch and nudged against the slender stalk of a tall dandelion clock. Testing its strength with a cautious lean, I eased my squishy base against the green stem until it curved low over the grass. The white, feathery seed tufts brushed softly across my cheek, sending a flurry of airy parachutes drifting into the noon air. When I let the stem spring gently back and bobbed upright, half a dozen delicate seeds remained stuck to my tacky sides, fanning outward like tiny whiskers. With an amused, lilting chirp, I wobbled in place to admire my new feathery trim.
