A Cool Morning Breeze
A tiny flutter caught my eye near the bottom edge of the front door. I stepped down softly from the woven blanket and walked across the smooth wooden floor, pausing after every few paces. Right there, in the narrow gap above the door sill, a thin current of air was slipping inside. A stray fallen leaf had drifted in and lay quiet against the wood trim. I leaned down and touched the tip of my nose to its dry edge. It gave off a crisp, leafy scent, cool and earthy from outside.
