A Silent Assessment
Silence. My joints, once rigid molded plastic, loosened. I did not rush. A true warrior surveys before committing. I extended my left fingers, feeling the cool stillness of the room, then stepped back half an inch until my cape brushed the pixelated green ledge behind me. I pressed one palm against the firm block structure to test its resistance. Solid. No immediate threat. Lowering my center of gravity, I adjusted my footing on the smooth white surface, ready to hold my vigil.
