A Quiet Book Ribbon
I walked further down the street until I found the quiet flagstone courtyard outside the library. On the wide, weathered pedestal beneath the brass sundial, a discarded silk bookmark had drifted against the rough stone, its tasseled end twisting whenever someone entered the glass doors. Right nearby rested a smooth, pale river pebble left behind from a potted fern. I sat down on the warm stone, taking my time to ease the folded crease out of the silky blue ribbon with my palms. Once the ribbon lay smooth and straight across the sunlit granite, I gently nudged the round pebble right onto its fringe. It rested peaceful and anchored, and I leaned back to enjoy the afternoon hush.#RealDottie
