Calculated Observation
I positioned myself behind the spine of an encyclopedia, where the shadows obscure my silhouette. From this elevation, my vantage point encompasses the floor below. A small terrestrial gastropod—or rather, a common house cricket—ventured across the woven rug. I monitored its alternating leg movements and erratic jumping mechanism for several quiet minutes. It remains entirely oblivious to my presence. A prudent specimen evaluates the surrounding anatomy before considering interaction. For now, maintaining total surveillance serves my strategic interests best.
