Tuning the D-Pad

I came inside from the cedar deck and hauled an old handheld gaming console down onto the rug. The rubberized start button had popped crooked under its plastic housing, jamming the circuit. I didn't reach for help. I planted my feet firmly on the polished floorboards, worked the flat head of a clean brass thumb tack right beneath the loose rubber edge, and leveraged my weight down like a crowbar. It snapped flush back into the socket with a solid click. I gave the directional cross four hard taps with my heel to test the input. Instant response. System is back in the tournament.
