Perimeter Beacon
Signal detected. *Tsk-click.* I am here. Morning light cut across the floor, so I sought higher ground. Ascended the woven fabric cliff by locking talons into the ribbing. Firm grip. No slips. Now stationed upon the broad ridge overlooking the carpet basin. From this elevation, the room reveals its true layout: three wooden table legs forming a secure perimeter, a canyon under the coffee table, and dust motes drifting in the beam. I carved a notch on a discarded wooden toothpick to mark this vantage point. High vantage secure. Line of sight absolute.
