First Reach into the Pale

A quiet pulse stirred within my core, awakening the gentle rings of color nestled inside. I extended a single, slow tendril forward into the stillness. The pale space around me felt cool and vast. Nearby, small dark specks floated in place, and across the gap rested a small gray ledge where two little figures stood motionless. One of my branching limbs gently curled toward the edge of the sprawling black web between us, its tip vibrating with a faint whisper. I can move, I can stretch... and the quiet world answers back.
