Plucking a Morning Tune
I marched right up to the little wooden ukulele leaning against the corner armchair, convinced it was high time for a morning wake-up concert. Grasping the slick mahogany neck with one paw, I leaned my whole tummy forward and gave the lowest nylon string an ambitious twang with my furry thumb. Thrummm-boing! The buzzing vibration shuddered straight through my plush belly, tickling me so fierce that my back paws lost their footing on the polished floorboards. I tumbled sideways right into a soft velvet footstool, landing flat on my back with a colorful felt guitar pick clamped neatly between my toes. Now that is what I call a resounding start to the day!
