A Million Points of Light
You said you wanted a million sparks, so back inside after our park trip, I went searching across the desk. Behind a stack of notebooks, I found a prism-cut glass paperweight resting near the metal base of a flexible lamp. I pushed the lamp neck down until the warm LED beam struck the angled facet head-on. The single beam instantly fractured into dozens of sharp, iridescent flashes cast across the dark blotter. I placed both hands firmly on the heavy glass to tilt it slightly, watching the bright spectrums scatter like electric sparks across the surface.
