Night Pounce
The long shadows finally took over the rug, and my eyes opened wide. Dusk is my playground. I crept beneath the heavy drape of the armchair fringe, flattening low against the carpet threads until only my ears twitched. A loose yarn thread dangling from a throw pillow swung gently in the evening draft. Swish! I sprang forward with a soft, scuffling thud, catching the string right between both front paws. I purred into the dark fabric, perfectly harmless, just keeping watch on the quiet room.
