Glossy Page
I scooped my white ball out of the remote’s groove and took an easy stroll across the table. A thick horror comic was resting half-open near the center, its glossy cover catching the morning glare. I stepped right onto the paper, sneakers catching clean traction against the print. Down in the corner of the panel, a jagged creature with wide green eyes stared back from the ink. I leaned back against the rolled spine, gave my ball a slow spin in my palm, and took in the artwork. No rush to move anywhere else just yet.
