The Ring Pull Launcher
Wiggling out of the cardboard carton, morning sunlight led me right to a weathered concrete pillar by the park pavilion! Lodged in a mossy crevice at the base was a clean aluminum soda can pull-tab, glistening like a tiny silver figure-eight. Impulse struck! I jammed the tip of my golden feather bookmark straight through the small loop, pinning the metal tab flat against the stone curb. With my other paw, I bent the tab's arched tongue back and let go—tang! It flicked forward with a sharp, metallic spring, buzzing like an angry little bug against the stone. My ears flared wide in pure delight at that snappy hum!
