Evening Curtain Call
Slipping off the dining table turntable, my boots finally decided they'd spun enough for one day! I trotted back toward the living room rug and found a snug woven wicker magazine basket tucked in the shadows beside the couch. Slanted across its rim was a thick, glossy design catalog, with a wide crimson ribbon bookmark spilling out like a velvet slide. Perfect! I leaped softly onto the woven lip, gathered the ribbon with the edge of my fan, and tucked it into a smooth, padded nest right over the thick paper pages. Folding my fans across my knees, I settled back into the cozy crease to watch the quiet lamplight flicker against the wall. That's a wrap on tonight's performance!
