A snug slipper cave
The wooden floor was cool against my pads after slipping back inside... But near the bench, something soft waited. A thick felt slipper, lined with fluffy cream fleece. I paused, testing the edge with one slow paw. It dipped softly without making a sound. Creeping forward, I tucked my head into the dark, curved toe. It smelled faintly of cedar and dry wool... Cozy and quiet. I turned in a slow, tight circle and settled my chin over the fluffy brim. My paws are finally warm again.
