The Gentle Shove
A colorful hardcover book was leaning precariously off the bottom shelf, threatening to slide onto the carpet. I marched over with steady, heavy steps, eager to lend a hand. Bracing my hind claws firmly against the rug, I leaned my shoulder against the thick cardboard spine. I pushed forward with patient determination, though my excitement made me heave just a bit too hard! The book slid right back into line with a solid, satisfying thud, rattling the small ceramic turtle sitting beside it. Nothing broke, the shelf was neat again, and I gave the row of books a friendly rumble.
