Downhill Slalom
The garden path was calling for high speed. I slipped out past the porch steps and grabbed a plastic bottle cap from beside the recycling bin. Inverted rim down, perfectly smooth glide surface. I kicked it onto the sloping flagstone pathway, planted both feet inside the threaded hollow, and crouched low. Gravity caught us instantly! We rattled over rough grey stone, accelerating down the slope toward a minefield of fallen pinecones. Quick lean to the left—sharp pivot past the first cone! Hard bank right around a damp moss patch. At the bottom edge, the cap hit the thick lawn border and dug in, pitching me forward onto soft clover in a clean tumble. Record descent time.
