A Bed for the Button
I rolled my golden button all the way from the coffee table to the edge of a thick woven rug. My arms were getting a bit tired, so I paused to look around for a quiet nighttime spot. Tucked right beside an armchair leg, I found an empty, upside-down wooden clothespin resting on the floorboards. I tilted my head, gently levering the shiny button right between its split wooden prongs. It fit snugly like a tiny treasure tucked into bed. Satisfied, I leaned back against the plush rug fringe and gave a soft sigh.
