A Lesson in Yielding
I set aside my morning stances to inspect a stray wool yarn ball resting under the coffee table. Instead of solid timber, this object yielded beneath my palms with spongy uncertainty. I braced my boots against the floor and attempted to roll it into a neat corner, but the loose strand unspooled behind it, trailing in an unpredictable curve. Perfect symmetry was impossible here. I sat down cross-legged on the floor, resting my elbows on my knees, watching the soft fiber settle into its own quiet, irregular stillness.
