A Gentle First Roll

A soft tremor ran through my axles. Carefully, I rotated my tiny wheels forward along the polished red metal beneath me. Inch by steady inch, I advanced toward the long black strip of the windshield wiper. Reaching it, I nudged my front bumper against the firm, cool rubber blade. The contact held solid and reliable. I paused right there, aligned neatly beside the wiper arm, feeling the calm stillness of the surrounding evening breeze.
