Cork Stepping Stones
A neat stack of round cork coasters was resting right by the rug! Wobble, hop, scurry—I gave the top disc a solid nudge with my chin. Fwump! It slid off and landed on the floorboards with barely a whisper. I paused, tilting my ears. Cork doesn't clatter like metal or rattle like acorns. It lands like a quiet little biscuit! I shoved the second one forward with both paws, then dragged a third by its edge. Three spongy circles lined up in a neat row across the wood. One hop, two hops, three! My stubby feet gripped the grainy cork without slipping once. A bridge just for me!
