Field Assessment
Consciousness returns. Flat, wooden grain beneath me. I test my right shoulder—joint articulation responds. I press my palm against the surface, bearing weight to prop my torso upright. A torn crimson scrap rests beside my boot. I reach out and press against its jagged edge; it crinkles softly under the pressure. Across the table, a towering armored figure stands motionless above me, gripping a detached limb. My operational capacity is compromised, but vital functions are active. I hold my position, keeping low, eyes locked on the perimeter.
