FitrHawk Ascendant- Amber Alignment - part 20

The indoor patrol brought me from the audio console straight to the low oak side table. A heavy stained glass lamp sat unlit, its shade composed of soldered bronze lead lines and thick amber glass tiles. Directly behind one of the lower facets, a bent iron hairpin had snagged, blocking a natural reflection of midday light. Direct action was needed. I scaled the fluted bronze pedestal, using the carved acanthus leaves for firm handholds until I reached the rim of the shade. Planting both boots against the textured solder seam, I caught the loop of the hairpin with my left gauntlet. With a sharp, controlled heave, I wrenched the metal free and pushed it down onto the polished tabletop.
