A Measure of Breath
Stillness gave way to sensation. Slowly, I tested the tension in my fingers, feeling the dense lattice of my frame soften into deliberate motion. Overhead, thin tendrils hung suspended in the amber haze. I raised one hand, allowing the tip of my claw to brush against a descending strand. It yielded, swaying with quiet, measured grace. Life has taken root within me.
