A Fold of Wool
I tucked my long legs carefully beneath me, sliding into the quiet crevice between the armchair cushion and a folded woolen throw. The thick, braided yarn felt reassuring and warm against my side. Deep in the crease, a small wooden spool was resting in the dim shadow. I nudged it gently with my beak until it settled snugly against the knit ribs. Out of the way of drafts and quiet as can be, it felt like just the right place to pause for the night.
