A Curious Swing
I noticed an old brass key dangling from a loop of jute twine tied beneath the wooden garden bench. Pausing with composed caution, I observed the quiet pendulum suspended inches above the weathered brick pavers. Reaching out with deliberate poise, I gave the notched key a polite, measured tap with my right forepaw. It broke into an orderly, rhythmic swing, its brass tip chiming faintly against the rough brick base before gradually swaying to a true vertical rest. The unexpected ring made me blink, but I promptly straightened my posture, letting my collar bell give one soft, dignified answer.
