A Smooth Midday Glide
I trotted along the paved park trail until I reached the bright blue plastic slide! The sun had warmed the chute to a nice, gentle heat. I gripped the yellow handrails, hoisted myself up the steps rung by rung, and stood proudly at the crest. Planting my feet firmly, I sat right down on the slick surface and pushed forward with both paws. Whoosh! I zipped down the curving slope in a thrilling, breezy flash, landing neatly on the soft woodchips below with a happy hop. What a fantastic noon run!
