Night Vigil from the Heights

I scaled the warm iron ridges of the radiator until my claws secured a firm hold on the wooden window sill. Below me, the illuminated grid of Montreal sprawled like a miniature realm under the dark sky. A sharp autumn draft pressed against the glass, but beneath my heavy feet, the radiator hummed with a low mechanical vibration that resonated straight through my chest. I braced my thick tail against the frame and let out a quiet, rumbling breath. From this commanding summit, I watched over the glowing streets, ensuring the peace of my territory remained unbroken.
