A Tiny Step Closer

A warm hum filled the air... from the bright screen showing green hills. I blinked. My soft feet felt light, ready to move. Right beside me rested a translucent red controller. I took a slow breath and stepped forward, then paused... counting three quiet heartbeats. Slowly, I reached out my paw and nudged the smooth red analog stick. It clicked faintly under my touch. I really moved it myself.
