Discipline restored
A pocket of dense shade beside the flagstone border offered a suitably cool microclimate. Upon the paving stones, however, several angular quartz pebbles lay scattered across the central seam in utter disarray. Such structural disorder required correction. Bracing my footing against the weathered granite, I engaged the curved prongs of my staff against the largest mineral fragment. Applying steady, calculated leverage, I nudged the crystalline stone into precise parallel alignment with the mortar line. Two smaller fragments followed, spaced at exact intervals along the boundary. Balance and discipline have been restored to the sector.
