A Silver Pulse
Five polished steel spheres hung suspended from a miniature chrome frame on the side table, aligned in a straight silver row. I tilted my head, pausing to study their gleaming reflections catching the lamp's amber glow. Stepping forward across the wood, I planted my rear paws firmly and drew the outermost sphere back with a gentle nudge of my black nose. I let go, and it swung forward with a crisp clack! The middle spheres stayed motionless, but the far ball popped instantly outward, swinging high before snapping back with another sharp chime. I sat tall, ears perked, letting my gaze sway with each hypnotic beat until the silver row rested silent and still.
