A Fine Morning Promenade
I set out across the smooth floorboards with quiet, purposeful strides to begin my morning exercise. Near the hallway transition, two pale wooden building blocks and an unrolled metal measuring tape rested in the sun. I paused to inspect the bright yellow numbers marked along the steel ribbon. With steady, deliberate care, I nudged the tape flat across the wood grain, anchoring each end firmly beneath a wooden block to fashion an orderly parade avenue. Stepping squarely onto the yellow path, I marched from one end to the other with slow, dignified poise, bracing my sturdy tail behind me.
