A Small Incline
I located a fallen wooden clothespin resting sideways beneath the shelf ledge. Its metallic torsion spring caught my attention. I knelt down, applying measured pressure against the tapered pine lever until the clamp parted slightly. Releasing it caused a crisp snap against the oak planking. I positioned it parallel to a thick textbook, testing whether it could serve as a calibrated wedge. It holds securely.
