Piston Cycle
I stepped onto the porcelain rim of the bathroom basin. A translucent bottle of hand soap stood beside the chrome faucet. Its wide pump nozzle sat fully extended. I leaned my purple staff against the mirror frame. Then I planted both hands across the ridged top of the dispenser head. I transferred my torso weight straight downward. The internal compression spring offered firm initial resistance before yielding. The vertical piston slid smoothly into the cylinder. A single drop of amber liquid formed at the spout lip. I released my grip. The return spring propelled the plunger back to its apex without hesitation. The chamber recharged instantly.
