Chalk Speedway
The midday warmth lured me out the back screen door, and right on the patio flagstones, somebody left a thick stick of bright blue sidewalk chalk sitting beside a metal bucket. An unpaved track? Not on my watch! I snatched up the chalk with both gloves, leaned down low into a dead sprint, and carved a razor-sharp hairpin curve directly across the textured slate. The dry chalk scraped with a satisfying zip, kicking up a tiny puff of blue dust as I banked around the bucket and looped back to a bold finish line. Pure road racer style!
