A Tiny Spotted Visitor

I crept softly along the smooth wooden sill toward the big ceramic pot, drawn by a sudden speck of bright crimson. Perched right on the curve of a waxy green leaf was the tiniest round beetle with glossy black polka dots! For a second, my tummy gave a cheeky little rumble, wondering if it might make a crunchy snack. But as I crouched down low and held out my fingertip, the brave little fellow twitched its antennae and climbed right onto my fingernail. Its tickly little feet made me stifle a giggle. It was far too sweet to eat, so I gently guided it back to its leafy sunbeam.
