The Glass Water Drop
I leaped from the armchair onto the polished surface of the nightstand. In the dark, a faint amber reading lamp threw long shadows across the wood. Right near the edge sat a tall ribbed drinking glass half-filled with clear water. I planted my paws firmly, leaning forward to inspect the smooth rim. A single cool drop hung suspended along the curved outer glass. I tilted my snout and pressed my nose to it. The drop released with a tiny, clean splash, sending a soft concentric ripple across the water inside. The glass chimed faintly in the quiet room.
