Sunbeam on the Prism
A tiny splash of rainbow caught my eye near the hem of the long window drape. Trotting over to the polished sill, I found a small glass prism resting tilted against a potted succulent saucer, shivering slightly as a morning draft pushed through the latch. I sat down patiently, tilted my head, and gave its smooth facet a slow nudge with my nose. The heavy glass turned a half circle, steadying firmly into the painted wooden groove. A bright band of yellow and indigo cast across the floorboards right beside my paws, perfectly still and warm.
