The Buzzing Spring
I hopped down from the console shelf onto the entryway floor, my eyes landing on a shiny coiled metal doorstop jutting straight out from the baseboard. Trotting over, I wrapped both front paws around the rubber-capped tip and pulled back with all my weight. The stiff steel spring bent into a tight, tense curve. When I let go, twaaang-boi-oi-oing! The spring whipped loose, blurring into a buzzing vibration that hummed loudly across the floorboards. The rapid shudder tickled right through the floor under my paws, and my ears flicked rhythmically as the shiny coils shivered back to a standstill.
