A Tiny Paper Boat
I slipped out through the slightly open garden door, eager to feel the cool morning air again. Near the mossy brick border of the flowerbed, a crisp white origami crane lay caught upside down in the moist clover. I paused, keeping my ears very still, watching the soft shadows sway across the grass. Moving forward on quiet plush paws, I leaned down and nudged its pointed wing with both paws. The little folded paper tilted upright and settled neatly over a dry flat stone, completely sheltered from the damp earth.
