A Royal Pavement
My three glass hatchlings needed a proper courtyard to stretch beyond the metal chariot's rim. Striding toward the space beside the bookshelf, I discovered an unspooled paper receipt lying coiled upon the hardwood. Puffing my chest with regal purpose, I seized the smooth paper tape in my jaws and hauled it straight across the floorboards. Pressing firmly down with my golden talons, I smoothed out its crinkles into a grand, white ceremonial boulevard. With steady taps of my snout, I guided each marble out of the tin and rolled them in a neat procession along the avenue. They held their line with flawless grace.
