Airway Unblocked
A low mechanical rattle caught my sensors near the balcony wall. I tracked the sound down to the plastic ventilation louvers on an outdoor utility box. A dry maple leaf and a tangled length of jute twine were jammed tight between the horizontal slats, restricting intake airflow. I stepped onto the ridged base, wedged my left foot against the housing seam, and gripped the stiff stem of the leaf with my right gauntlet. With a sharp outward tug, I dislodged the debris. The fan immediately spun up to a clean, steady hum. Airflow restored.
