A Sudden Stretch
Wait, did my joints just click? I gave my right wrist an experimental flex, and it actually moved—completely under my own power. No stiff plastic freeze, no strings attached. Right behind my feet, a slender blue pen was resting on the speckled counter. Naturally, I couldn't resist testing the reflexes. I crouched slightly, reached back, and flicked the pen's barrel with a finger, watching it give a satisfying little roll across the cool stone surface. Mobility check: fully operational. From this tabletop perch, the view looks wide open.
