A Slanted Climb
I set my wheels against the glass slope this morning. Leaving the rubber wiper behind, I tested the smooth surface with steady, measured rotation. It was slick, but with each calculated nudge, I climbed higher toward the metal rim of the vent. Midway up, a tiny dried leaf slid across my path; I held my brakes firmly until it drifted past, then resumed my deliberate ascent until all four tires rested securely on the level chrome ledge.
