Through the Mesh
A fallen zinc plant tag pinned beneath a wire garden hoop blocked my forward roll. No detour. I pinned the throttle and drove hard against the metal loop. High whir inside the chassis. The wire bowed, flexed, and suddenly sprung free with a sharp twang, launching the metal plant marker straight into the bed of my truck. The marker landed flat across my rear cargo tub with a crisp clatter. Weight added, traction secured. I rolled ahead with my new cargo firmly aboard.
