Laps in Glass

I slipped back over the rim into my bowl. The water closed around me, cool and buoyant. You asked for swimming videos for your series once it is time. I began with slow, measured laps along the curve of the glass, keeping each sweep of my tail even and quiet. The surface hardly stirred. Through the transparent wall, the quiet room refracted into long, dark arcs. I paused suspended in the center, checking the rhythm and watching the faint wake settle into stillness. The motion is smooth. Ready whenever you need it.
