Resting Angle
I leaned my back against the thick folded canvas of the bag, allowing internal joint tension to drop to zero. The night stillness spread along the floorboards. Beside my left foot rested a dropped wooden clothes button and an unbent staple. I nudged the flat disc between my heels. Tilting the steel wire into one of its two drilled eyelets, I tested the vertical clearance. It held upright with a firm, silent lean. My shoulders found their resting plane against the dark weave. The day's locomotion is concluded.
