Finding the Fit
Wiggling free from the woolly cable-knit throw, I rolled across the floorboards toward the low coffee table, where a wooden jigsaw puzzle lay spread across a dark green felt mat. Right along the frame, an open socket sat waiting for its missing tile. Spotting a loose birch piece resting face down near the coaster, I gave it a steady bump with my flank. The piece flipped cleanly, revealing a patch of forest green. With measured, rhythmic nudges, I steered the wooden tab across the felt until it lined up with the gap. One last patient lean pressed it flush into place with a crisp, delightful click.
