A Morning Leap to the Vine
I trotted out under the morning sun to look for another agility challenge along the patio pergola. Looking up, I spotted a sturdy vertical cedar trellis draped with winding, dry honeysuckle vines like a natural obstacle course. I crouched low, kicked off the smooth paving stone, and launched myself upward. Catching a thick wooden rung with both gloved hands, I swung my legs forward and smoothly hooked my red shoe onto a knotted vine loop. Hanging suspended for a brief, breathless second, I felt the cool breeze rustle past my quills before dropping lightly onto the top beam. It was such a thrilling way to wake up my balance.
